Wild Waves at St Mary's Square Open Edition Print
Wild Waves at St Mary's Square Open Edition Print
Wild Waves at St Mary's square open edition print has been produced from original art by local North East artist Emily Ward. All of Emily's art prints are also available framed.
This dramatic scene of the crashing waves almost hides the lighthouse in the background. Bright white has been used for the waves and the clouds, demonstrating how powerful they are.
Looking at the art print, you can almost feel the harsh sea breeze from Emily’s dramatic depiction of a stormy day. In contrast to the dark sea, the sky is more of a light blue and there is a hint of orange which suggests the sun is near.

St Mary's Lighthouse
Completed in 1898, St Mary’s Lighthouse was in operation until 1984 when modern navigational techniques took over. Today the Lighthouse and former keepers’ cottages are open as a visitor centre, ran by North Tyneside Council.
As well as being a major landmark of Whitley Bay, the surrounding Nature Reserve is also popular with rockpools and wetland habitats.
