Tynemouth Priory Square Open Edition Print
Tynemouth Priory Square Open Edition Print
Tynemouth Priory square open edition print has been produced from an original painting by local North East artist Emily Ward. All of Emily's art prints are also available framed.
Emily has painted these impressive medieval ruins standing proud at the mouth of the Tyne under a warming orange sky.
The yellowing rock arches that have been painted with a hint of pink can be seen protecting the priory. The splashes of the North Sea add character to this delightful open edition art print.

Tynemouth Priory
A rocky headland overlooking the North Sea and the River Tyne on the North East coastline is home to this coastal fortress. Tynemouth Castle with its rich history of over 2000 years, from the Iron Age to WW2, was an enclosed fortification that was built around a Benedictine priory.
Early kings of Northumbria are buried here amongst the medieval priory, which was protected by moated castle towers, a keep and a gatehouse. These substantial ruins are part of English Heritage now.
