The Mill, Fountains Abbey Canvas Print

The Mill at Fountains Abbey canvas art print is by North East artist Emily Ward. This is a new addition to Emily's portfolio of original artwork in the Yorkshire and Humberside range. The canvas print is hand finished by Emily.

Dainty daisies grow wildly on the luscious green grass in front of the old mill on Emily's art canvas print. Tones of purple can be seen swirling through the fluffy clouds which reflect off the tranquil water.

Flecks of colourful paint add a warmth to the historic grain mill at Fountains Abbey.

The Mill, Fountains Abbey

Fountains Mill was built in the 12th century and is the oldest building on the estate at Fountains Abbey in Yorkshire.

Built to grind grain for the monastery by the Cistercians, it was in continuous use until 1927. The building had been modified and adapted over the years. With a long history, the building has previously been used as a timber sawmill, a monastic granary and a home for refugees over the years.

The Mill was restored in 2001 and hosts an interactive exhibition nowadays.
