Clifford's Tower canvas art print has been produced from original artwork by local Northumbrian artist Emily Ward.
Emily's art canvas print of the iconic castle tower has a feeling of spring about it. Cheerful yellow and orange flowers grow wildly on the grassy hill leading up to this medieval Norman keep.
You can imagine walking up the stone steps towards this round castle keep.

Clifford's Tower
Clifford's Tower
has looked over the city of York from 1245 until the present day. It was originally built on the orders of William 1 to dominate the Viking city of Jorvik which is now known as York.
York's iconic historical monument is steeped in a thousand years of history. The raised mound that it stands on was once the site of a timber keep that had been built by William the Conqueror. This was burnt down in 1190.
Clifford’s Tower was once part of York Castle, the tower played a role in turbulent national events such as the Dissolution of the Monasteries and the English Civil War.

Each Canvas Print is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your canvas is actually a print no two prints are identical. Emily hand finishes the canvas prints by adding extra paint to the print.

The canvas is mounted on a wooden frame. The wooden frame is approximately 2cm deep so will fit snugly against any wall.
