Temple of Fame, Studley Royal Water Gardens

Studley Royal Water Garden and the ruins of Fountains Abbey are situated near Ripon in Yorkshire. Owned and managed by The National Trust, it is a designated World Heritage Site.

Listed by UNESCO as 'one of the most magnificent Georgian water gardens ever created', Studley Royal is a landscape which has been artificially manipulated to such a standard as to be considered a 'feat of human creative genius'.

The Temple of Fame can be seen after climbing the High Ride with lovely views across the gardens The Georgian folly was built for William Aislabie whose vision created the water gardens. The 8 columns of the temple appear to be made of stone but are actually wooden.
