The National Trust Shop
on Goodramgate in York is situated just around the corner from Treasurer's House. From the historic precinct you have a view looking over York Minster.
Archive material shows there has been a shop and information centre on the site dating back to 1930.
The archway at the front once formed one of four entrances to the York Minster precinct. With timbers dating back to the late 12th century, it’s the last remaining entrance left standing today.
Frank Green a wealthy industrialist donated the building to the National Trust in 1969 alongside Treasurer's House and other important buildings in York.
