Studley Royal Water Garden
and Fountains Abbey
is situated near Ripon in Yorkshire. This 800 acre site features include the largest Cistercian abbey ruins in Europe, 18th century landscaped gardens, and a Jacobean mansion.
Owned and managed by The National Trust, it is a designated World Heritage Site.
Nestled within the flora at the Studley Royal Park, the Octagon Tower overlooks the lush Georgian water garden. It is one of several follies in the area. The garden was designed by John Aislabie in 1718 and later his son William continued his work in the late eighteenth century.
The Gothic style Octagon Tower built in the mid 1730s is on Constitution Hill. on the north side at Studley Royal Water Gardens.
