Royal Observatory, Greenwich Canvas Print
Royal Observatory, Greenwich Canvas Print
Royal Observatory, Greenwich art canvas print has been produced from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. Emily hand finishes each canvas print with her characteristic splashes of paint making it individual to you.
Emily’s art canvas print of the Royal Observatory in Greenwich bursts with vibrant colour and energy, transforming the historic building into a joyful, dreamlike scene. The observatory’s red-brick facade glows warmly beneath a sky painted in rich shades of pink, purple, and lavender, with soft clouds swirling across the canvas.
The dome-topped towers and central spire stand out in cool blue tones, contrasting beautifully with the warmth of the building. In the foreground, a lively field of flowers stretches upward, filled with splashes of purple, pink, yellow, and green.
The scattered paint flecks unite the sky, architecture, and garden, turning the scene into a radiant celebration of colour, light, and history.

The Royal Observatory
The Royal Observatory in Greenwich is one of London’s most significant historic landmarks, renowned as the home of Greenwich Mean Time and the Prime Meridian Line. Founded in 1675 by King Charles II, it was established to improve navigation and mapmaking through the study of astronomy.
Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the observatory sits atop Greenwich Hill, offering sweeping views over the River Thames and the city beyond. Its distinctive red-brick building, domed roof, and elegant architecture reflect both scientific purpose and classical beauty. Today, the Royal Observatory stands as a symbol of exploration and discovery, connecting the past achievements of astronomy with the modern measurement of time.
