Guildhall, Derry Framed Ceramic Tile
Guildhall, Derry Framed Ceramic Tile
Guildhall, Derry framed ceramic tile has been designed from artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. All ceramic tiles are printed and hand pressed in Emily's art studio, where she hand finishes every tile.
Emily’s vibrant wall art captures the magnificent Guildhall in Derry, Northern Ireland, in a wonderful celebration of colour. The building’s striking red and terracotta sandstone glows with warm shades of orange, pink and golden brown.
A spectacular sky bursts with swirling shades of bright blue, soft lavender, lilac and delicate pink, scattered with playful splashes of yellow, turquoise and rose. In the foreground, a delightful meadow of wildflowers brings the scene to life, with delicate blooms in shades of pink, purple, red, white and sunshine yellow dancing amongst fresh green grasses.
Colourful splashes and tiny flecks of paint are scattered throughout the artwork, creating a wonderful sense of movement, energy and happiness. The combination of the historic Guildhall, dreamy pastel sky and cheerful flowers creates a bright, uplifting interpretation of one of Derry’s most treasured landmarks.

Guildhall, Derry
The Guildhall is one of Derry’s most iconic landmarks, standing proudly in the heart of the city in Northern Ireland, overlooking the River Foyle. Originally built in 1890, this impressive building is celebrated for its striking neo-Gothic architecture, distinctive red sandstone exterior and magnificent clock tower. After suffering extensive damage in a fire in 1908, the Guildhall was beautifully restored and reopened in 1912.
One of its most remarkable features is its collection of stunning stained glass windows, which illustrate significant moments in the history of Derry and its people. The building has played an important role in the city's civic and cultural life for more than a century and remains a popular attraction for visitors.
