Trafalgar Square coaster by artist Emily Ward has been hand pressed locally onto a FSC rated hardbacked coaster. The coaster has been produced from original artwork by Emily.
Emily's art coaster highlights the fountains at the centre of Trafalgar Square. The water arcs upwards in clean lines, breaking into droplets that are captured against a backdrop of warm golden stone and pale blue sky. The surrounding architecture provides a clear structure, with the spire rising beyond to balance the composition.
The use of turquoise and blue tones in the water contrasts with the softer pinks and purples above. Brushwork is confident and fluid, giving the fountains a sense of motion, while the buildings remain solid but softened by colour. The result is a balanced and uplifting scene.

Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square was established in the mid-nineteenth century to honour Admiral Nelson’s triumph at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. The square, designed by Charles Barry, transformed a central site into an ordered public space, crowned by Nelson’s Column. The monument, topped with a statue of Nelson and encircled by bronze lions, was intended as both a commemoration of naval victory and a symbol of national pride.
