St James's Palace coaster by artist Emily Ward has been hand pressed locally onto a FSC rated hardbacked coaster. The coaster has been produced from original artwork by Emily.
Emily’s art coaster captures the scene with a playful atmosphere. The sky is painted in soft layers of pale blue with hints of violet, creating a gentle backdrop that feels light and open. Scattered across it are tiny specks of yellow, pink, and white, suggesting drifting petals or confetti.
Below, the flowers form a vibrant foreground, rising in tall, slender strokes of purple, magenta, blue, lemon yellow, and white. They appear loosely arranged, giving the impression of wildflowers swaying together rather than a formal planting.
These bright, cheerful colours contrast with the more solid tones of the palace behind them, while also echoing the flecks in the sky. Together, the sky and flowers soften the architectural scene, filling it with energy, colour, and a joyful sense of life.

St Jame's Palace
St James’s Palace is located in the heart of London near St James’s Park. It is one of the oldest royal residences in the city and a working palace to this day. Built by King Henry VIII in the 1530s on the site of a former leper hospital, it was for centuries the principal royal residence before Buckingham Palace took over that role in the 19th century.
The distinctive red-brick Tudor architecture, complete with crenellated gatehouse and mullioned windows, reflects its 16th-century origins. While it is not open to the public, St James’s Palace
remains an important ceremonial venue, hosting receptions, official events, and the Accession Council that proclaims a new monarch. It also serves as the London base for several members of the royal family, preserving its historic connection to the British monarchy.
