Tamar and Brunel Bridges ceramic tile with easel is by North East artist Emily Ward. The ceramic tile has been created from original artwork by Emily and is hand pressed locally in her art studio.
Emily’s art gift shows a colourful, atmospheric view of the River Tamar, with the Tamar Bridge and the Royal Albert Bridge stretching across the water side by side.
The sky is filled with soft shades of blue, lavender, and purple, lightly textured with clouds and flecks of light that create a gentle, airy mood. Below, the river flows calmly through the scene, reflecting cool blues and greens as it passes the town along its banks.
The Tamar Bridge rises tall and elegant with sweeping suspension lines, while the Royal Albert Bridge’s distinctive arched spans add a strong sense of structure and history.

Tamar and Brunel Bridges
The Royal Albert Bridge and the Tamar Bridge cross the River Tamar at Saltash, linking Devon and Cornwall with two very different feats of engineering. The Royal Albert Bridge was completed in 1859, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and is instantly recognisable by its elegant iron arches that carry the railway high above the water.
Nearby, the Tamar Bridge was opened in 1961 to carry road traffic, its suspension design reflecting a more modern, functional style. Standing side by side, the bridges
highlight nearly a century of engineering progress while together forming a dramatic and iconic gateway between the two counties.

Each tile comes with it’s own wooden easel so your tile is easy to display.
There is a cork backing on each tile and each tile is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag.
All ceramic tiles are individually printed so there may be a slight variation in colour tones.
