Tamar and Brunel Bridges Hanging Pendant Decoration
Tamar and Brunel Bridges ceramic pendant has been created from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. This lovely hanging decoration has been hand pressed locally in her studio near Newcastle.
Emily can handwrite your message on the reverse of the pendant, just add your message to the order.
Emily’s art hanging pendant presents a vibrant, expressive view of the River Tamar, with the Tamar Bridge and the Royal Albert Bridge rising side by side across the water.
The sky is painted in soft purples and blues, layered with gentle clouds and scattered speckles of light that give the scene a dreamlike, atmospheric quality.
Below, the river reflects hints of blue and green as it winds through the landscape, bordered by the clustered rooftops of the town beyond. The Tamar Bridge appears tall and graceful, its suspension cables sweeping upward, while the Royal Albert Bridge’s iconic curved iron arches add depth to the artwork.
In the foreground, a meadow of wildflowers bursts with colour, pinks, yellows, greens, and purples, applied in lively, textured strokes that bring energy and warmth to this art gift.

Tamar and Brunel Bridges
The Royal Albert Bridge and the Tamar Bridge cross the River Tamar at Saltash, linking Devon and Cornwall with two very different feats of engineering. The Royal Albert Bridge was completed in 1859, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and is instantly recognisable by its elegant iron arches that carry the railway high above the water.
Nearby, the Tamar Bridge was opened in 1961 to carry road traffic, its suspension design reflecting a more modern, functional style. Standing side by side, the bridges
highlight nearly a century of engineering progress while together forming a dramatic and iconic gateway between the two counties.
