St James's Palace Bone China Cup
St James's Palace Bone China Cup
St James's Palace bone china cup has been designed from original artwork by Emily Ward. All cups are printed and hand pressed in Emily's studio in the North East.
Emily’s art cup depicts St James’s Palace in a vibrant style, using colour to create a sense of warmth and celebration. The building is rendered in rich tones of brick red, terracotta, and soft orange, giving it a glowing, sunlit appearance.
Hints of gold and warm brown add texture to the stonework, while the windows are picked out in cool blues and whites. Deeper shades of navy and charcoal around the entrance add depth.
The sky above is calm and airy, painted in smooth washes of light blue and lavender, scattered with tiny flecks of pink, yellow, and white that drift across the scene like confetti or falling petals. At the base of the Emily's artwork, the flowers burst into colour, with slender stems and blossoms in purple, pink, blue, yellow, and white rising together in a lively display.
These bright floral tones mirror the speckled sky, bringing movement and harmony to Emily’s artwork and giving it a joyful, uplifting mood.

St James's Palace
St James’s Palace is located in the heart of London near St James’s Park. It is one of the oldest royal residences in the city and a working palace to this day. Built by King Henry VIII in the 1530s on the site of a former leper hospital, it was for centuries the principal royal residence before Buckingham Palace took over that role in the 19th century.
The distinctive red-brick Tudor architecture, complete with crenellated gatehouse and mullioned windows, reflects its 16th-century origins. While it is not open to the public, St James’s Palace remains an important ceremonial venue, hosting receptions, official events, and the Accession Council that proclaims a new monarch. It also serves as the London base for several members of the royal family, preserving its historic connection to the British monarchy.
