Souter Lighthouse Square Open Edition Print
Souter Lighthouse Square Open Edition Print
Souter Lighthouse square open edition print has been produced from original art by local North East artist Emily Ward. All of Emily's art prints are also available framed.
Emily's art print is of this striking red and white hooped lighthouse as the sun is setting. Gentle tones cast a relaxing haze of lilacs and purples over it.
The warm colours Emily has used in her trademark brushstrokes and splashes certainly bring an uplifting feel to this pretty lighthouse in South Shields.

Souter Lighthouse
An iconic landmark in South Tyneside on the North East coast, Souter lighthouse was opened in 1871. Standing proud over the rugged coastline, Souter Lighthouse was the first lighthouse in the world to be built to use alternating electric current; this was very advanced technology for its day.
The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1988 and is now managed by The National Trust.
