Sea stacks, rock arches and breathtaking limestone cliff formations dominate a lot of this coastline in South Tyneside.
Marsden beach
in South Shields is home to this famous rock formation standing 30 metres tall.
The area is now a wildlife sanctuary and home to a vast amount of sea birds. Take the old lift from the historic Marsden Grotto hotel down to the beach for a closer view.
