Puffin Dancing in the Daisies
The Farne Islands
are home to thousands of puffins during the breeding season, usually from April to late July. Nesting seabirds of Inner Farne also include Guillemots, Razorbills, Sandwich Terns and Roseate. A member of the auk family, the puffin is sometimes known as a sea parrot, although in Northumberland the puffin is also referred to as 'Tommy Noddy'.
