Shakespeare's Globe Pendant Decoration
Shakespeare's Globe Hanging Pendant Decoration
Shakespeare's Globe ceramic pendant has been created from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. This lovely hanging decoration has been hand pressed locally in her studio near Newcastle.
Soft tones of blue and violet stretch across the upper portion, flecked with lighter patches that add depth and a quiet sense of movement. The sky feels alive, as if the day is breathing gently over the scene.
Beneath it, Shakespeare’s Globe emerges with a sense of warmth and permanence. Its circular form is painted with clean white plaster and bold timber beams, crowned by a glowing golden thatched roof. Red banners hang vertically, adding richness and contrast. Brick steps lead to a wrought-iron gate, grounding the structure. Broad, loose strokes of pink, yellow, and purple in the foreground give vitality and harmony to the scene.

Shakespeare's Globe
Today, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is a working performance space and a centre for learning, bringing Shakespeare’s plays to life while offering visitors a deeper understanding of theatre history. It hosts productions in the spirit of the original Globe, with workshops, talks, and exhibitions that connect audiences to the culture of Elizabethan London. More than a building, it is a living link between Shakespeare’s world and our own.
The Globe was first built in 1599 by Richard Burbage as the home of Shakespeare’s company. Its circular shape, open roof, and mix of galleries and standing areas made it a lively space where people from all walks of life could gather for entertainment. After a fire destroyed it in 1613, and a later demolition in 1644, the Globe vanished for centuries. In 1997, thanks to the vision of Sam Wanamaker, it was rebuilt, recreating the original’s atmosphere while offering a modern space for performance, education, and celebration of the theatrical arts.
