Shakespeare's Globe Keyring
Shakespeare's Globe Keyring
Shakespeare's Globe keyring has been created from original artwork by Emily Ward an artist from the North East. This art keyring has been hand pressed locally in Emily's art studio.
In the artwork, the sky above Shakespeare’s Globe stretches wide, with soft gradients of blue and lavender. Scattered flecks of colour adds a calm but uplifting tone for the scene, drawing the eye gently downward toward the theatre below.
The Globe itself stands as the heart of the composition, its circular structure is rendered in crisp white, framed by bold timber beams that speak to its Tudor heritage. The warm golden tones of the thatched roof catch the light, making it appear almost luminous under the sky. At the entrance, brick steps and a wrought-iron gate give a sense of form and permanence, inviting the viewer into the scene.

Shakespeare's Globe
The Globe Theatre was created in 1599 from the timbers of a dismantled playhouse, offering Shakespeare’s company a home of their own. Its circular structure and open roof made it a landmark on London’s Bankside, a space that encouraged direct and lively performance. Crowds from every walk of life flocked to its shows, standing in the yard or seated in galleries, united by a love of drama.
The original Globe lasted less than half a century. Destroyed by fire, rebuilt, then finally closed and demolished, it disappeared by the mid-1600s. Its legacy, however, never faded. In 1997, a careful reconstruction opened nearby, spearheaded by the vision of Sam Wanamaker. Today, the Globe continues to stage plays in a setting faithful to its Elizabethan origins, ensuring that Shakespeare’s art remains vibrant in the modern age.
