Big Ben Keyring

Seaburn keyring has been created from original art by Emily Ward a local North East artist. This art keyring has been hand pressed locally in Emily's art studio.

Emily’s art keyring of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament is a vibrant depiction of the iconic London Landmark. The scene is set against a warm glowing sunrise or sunset sky which is filled with vivid shades of orange, yellow with hints of red. The golden glow from the sun lights up Elizabeth Tower.

Westminster Bridge with its varying shades of green spans the River Thames which is filled with colourful paint splatters which add an almost playful feel to Emily’s art.

Big Ben

The iconic silhouette of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament is one of London’s most popular attractions, the area attracts up to 5 million visitors a year. Big Ben is located within the Elizabeth Tower, which is part of the Palace of Westminster. The Elizabeth Tower is the official name for the clock tower, while Big Ben specifically refers to the large hour bell housed inside.

Work commenced on the Houses of Parliament in 1840 and the Clock Tower, which houses Big Ben, was started in 1843. Big Ben first chimed sixteen years later in 1859.

Elizabeth Tower stands at more than 96 metres tall, there are 334 steps to climb up to the belfry and 399 steps to the Ayrton Light at the very top of the tower.
