Salisbury Cathedral Hanging Pendant Decoration

Salisbury Cathedral ceramic pendant has been created from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. This lovely hanging decoration has been hand pressed locally in her studio near Newcastle.

Salisbury Cathedral is set against a warm, joyful haze on Emily’s art ceramic pendant.

The sky is a soft, expansive blue, brushed on in gentle, sweeping strokes. scattered with floating dots of white, pink, yellow, and pale blue, like confetti, pollen, or light rain drifting through the air.

Salisbury Cathedral rises calmly at the center, its tall spire stretching upward with elegance and clarity. The stone is in warm creams, honey tones, with hints of lavender and soft grey. The architecture is softened, as subtle pastel highlights dance across the walls, echoing the colours in the sky.

The foreground bursts into life with flowers. Tall, slender stems rise from a meadow of luminous yellow-green, topped with small, scattered blossoms in pinks, whites, purples, and blues. The flowers feel light and airy, like wildflowers swaying in a summer breeze.

Salisbury Cathedral

Salisbury Cathedral was founded in the early 13th century after the decision to move the cathedral from Old Sarum to a more accessible site in the Avon valley. Construction began in 1220 and was completed unusually quickly for the period, largely finished within about 40 years.

The famous spire was added later in the 14th century, transforming the cathedral’s silhouette and making it a dominant feature of the surrounding landscape. Over the centuries, Salisbury Cathedral has remained an important religious centre, preserving its medieval character and architectural unity to a remarkable degree.
