Maryport art canvas print has been created from original artwork by local North East artist Emily Ward. Emily hand finishes each canvas print with her characteristic splashes of paint, so no two canvases are the same.
Sea spray from the Solway Firth splashes over the old cast iron lighthouse that stands proud on the pier at Maryport. Hints of purple can be seen shimmering through the dark blues of the sky.
The small mountains and lowlands on the far side of the estuary can be faintly seen adding a bit of mystery to this local landmark.

Maryport
is a pretty harbour town with lovely views along the Solway Coast, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town is situated just outside the Lake District National Park. It is one of the southernmost towns on the Solway Firth, the River Ellen flows through Maryport into the Solway Firth.
The lighthouse was established in 1846
and is reported to be the oldest cast-iron lighthouse in the UK. The lighthouse is 4.7metres high. The lighthouse consists of an octagonal metal plinth, column & lantern on top of a rusticated stone base.
The renowned artist L S Lowry used the lighthouse in several of his paintings.
