Garstang Canvas Print
Garstang Canvas Print
Garstang art canvas print has been produced from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. Emily hand finishes each canvas print with her characteristic splashes of paint making it individual to you.
Emily’s art canvas print depicts the charming town square scene in Garstang, filled with warmth, colour, and character. At the centre stands the tall stone lamp post adorned with two traditional lanterns, its base surrounded by a vibrant burst of flowers.
The blossoms are painted in a joyful mix of reds, purples, pinks, yellows, and blues, applied with scattered strokes. The surrounding building, rendered in soft golden-brown stone and creamy whites with slate roofs, create a sense of historic charm.
Wooden benches on the right suggest a welcoming communal space, while the curved cobblestones beneath the lamp post add to the town’s rustic feel. The sky glows in a soft halo of yellow and white, radiating out into cool blues, giving the scene both warmth and a dreamlike atmosphere.
Overall, Emily's art captures the cosy, inviting spirit of a traditional English market town with a lively use of colour and light.

Garstang
Garstang , a small market town in Lancashire, North West England, is often celebrated as the world’s first Fairtrade town, having gained the title in 2000. Nestled between the River Wyre and the picturesque countryside of the Forest of Bowland, it combines historic charm with a welcoming community spirit.
The town has a long history as a traditional market centre, with weekly markets dating back to the 14th century, and its streets are lined with independent shops, cosy cafés.
Surrounded by scenic walking and cycling routes, including stretches of the Lancaster Canal, Garstang is a popular spot for visitors looking to enjoy both heritage and nature. Its blend of history, community, and rural beauty makes Garstang a distinctive and memorable part of the North West.
