The Manchester Bee Canvas Print
The Manchester Bee Canvas Print
The Manchester Bee canvas art print has been produced from original art by North East artist Emily Ward. Emily hand finishes each canvas print with her characteristic splashes of paint making it individual to you.
Emily’s art is of the famous Manchester Bee, set against a vibrant and joyful backdrop. The iconic bee, with its distinctive orange and black stripes and strong, symmetrical wings, stands proudly at the centre on this art canvas print. The Manchester Bee contrasts beautifully with the soft, painted background.
Surrounding the bee is a lively meadow of colourful wildflowers, created with playful dabs and splashes of paint in shades of yellow, pink, white, and blue. The sky above is a cheerful, bright blue, dotted with soft pastel splatters that give the whole scene a sense of movement and energy. The combination of the strong bee symbol and the whimsical floral setting perfectly reflects the spirit of Manchester, resilient, hardworking, and full of colour and community pride.

The Manchester Bee
The Manchester Bee is a powerful symbol of the city’s identity, representing the hardworking spirit, resilience, and unity of its people. First adopted during the Industrial Revolution, the worker bee reflects Manchester's history as a hive of activity, where industry, innovation, and progress thrived.
The Manchester Bee became an official emblem of the city in the 19th century and can be seen across the city today, from mosaics in the Town Hall to street art and public spaces. In recent years, the bee has taken on even deeper significance, symbolising strength, solidarity, and community spirit, particularly in the wake of the tragic 2017 Manchester Arena attack.
For locals and visitors alike, the Manchester Bee remains a proud and enduring reminder of the city’s determination and sense of togetherness.
