Gisborough Priory Postcard

Gisborough Priory postcard is by North East artist Emily Ward from her Yorkshire art print and gift range.

Gisborough Priory

Gisborough Priory in the town of Guisborough, North Yorkshire was founded in about 1119. It was one of the first Augustinian priories to be built in England.

With over 900 years of history, Gisborough was founded by the Bruce family who were ancestors of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland.

The ruins are dominated by the impressive skeleton of the 14th century church's east end, an outstanding example of early Gothic architecture.
