Ribblehead Viaduct Postcard

Ribblehead Viaduct postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original artwork by Emily.

Emily’s colourful postcard captures the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct stretching across the rolling green hills of the Yorkshire Dales. A traditional steam train makes its way gracefully across the historic stone arches.

Soft shades of pink, lilac and blue blend together in the sky, creating a dreamy backdrop that contrasts beautifully with the fresh greens of the surrounding countryside.

In the foreground, a joyful meadow of wildflowers bursts with vibrant pinks, yellows, blues and whites, adding warmth and colour to the scene.

The rich red of the steam train provides a striking focal point, while delicate splashes of colour throughout give Emily's artwork a wonderfully bright and uplifting feel.

Ribblehead Viaduct

Whernside, Ribblehead Viaduct and the Settle to Carlisle Railway come together to create one of the most iconic landscapes in the Yorkshire Dales. Rising above the surrounding countryside, Whernside is the highest of Yorkshire’s famous Three Peaks and provides a dramatic backdrop to the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct.

Completed in the 1870s, the viaduct stretches across the valley on 24 impressive stone arches and remains one of Britain’s most celebrated feats of Victorian railway engineering. The historic Settle to Carlisle Railway crosses the viaduct on its spectacular journey through the Pennines, offering wonderful views of rolling hills, open moorland and rugged countryside along the way.
