Cat and Dog Stairs square open edition print has been produced from an original painting by local North East artist Emily Ward. All of Emily's art prints are also available framed.
Looking at this painting you really can imagine yourself walking up these old steep stairs leading up from the waters edge. Emily has captured the North Sea when the tide is in with its white sea spray gently cascading down onto the stairs.
The pink haze amongst the clouds suggests a hint of sun over these old steps, which have been painted to show the worn stone with water dripping down them.

Cat and Dog Stairs
Cat and Dog steps as they are mainly known are situated at Roker between Roker Cliff Park and Meiks Lighthouse in Sunderland. There are many rumours about the Cat and Dog steps
and the choice of the unique name but no one is really certain.
