The Mill, Fountain's Abbey Square Open Edition Print
The Mill, Fountain's Abbey square open edition print has been designed from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. This lovely art print is also available framed.
The historic Mill looks very peaceful as it reflects over the stillness of the water. The purple tones of the sky add to the tranquillity of this lovely art print of Fountains Abbey.

The Mill, Fountain's Abbey
Fountains Abbey near Ripon in North Yorkshire is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England.
Fountains Mill is the oldest building on the estate and dates back to the 12th century. Built by Cistercian monks to grind grain for the monastery. There was two waterwheels installed, which were run from a leat taken from the Rover Skell.
With a long history, the building has also been a monastic granary, a timber sawmill, a home for refugees and a mason’s workshop.
The mill operated until 1927 when it was closed down. It was restored in 2001 and now has an interactive exhibition.
