Sizergh framed ceramic tile has been designed from original art by North East artist Emily Ward. All ceramic tiles are printed and hand pressed in Emily's art studio, where she hand finishes every tile.
Emily’s art framed ceramic tile of the enchanting Sizergh Castle is brought to life with bold colour and expressive detail. The castle’s warm stone exterior, complete with battlements and mullioned windows, stands proudly at the center, framed by vibrant greenery.
In the foreground, a meadow of wildflowers bursts with colour, splashes of pink, purple, blue and white that add a sense of movement and joy. The sky glows with a soft blend of yellow, orange, and blue, suggesting either sunrise or sunset, and the entire scene is dotted with playful flecks of paint, creating a magical, dreamlike feel. Sizergh
Sizergh is a historic estate on the southern edge of the Lake District near Kendal, best known for Sizergh Castle
, a fortified medieval house that has been home to the Strickland family for over 800 years. Managed by the National Trust, the castle features a striking tower house, beautifully preserved oak-panelled rooms, and the renowned Elizabethan Inlaid Chamber.
The surrounding estate includes formal gardens, one of the oldest rock gardens in the country, wildflower meadows, and extensive woodland and wetland walks across 1,600 acres. Visitors can enjoy scenic trails, seasonal events, and wildlife spotting. Easily accessible from Kendal, Sizergh offers a rich blend of history, nature, and tranquility, making it a rewarding destination in the southern Lake District.
Ceramic Framed Tile
Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.
The framed tile appears as if it is floating inside the frame.
Frames are available in White and Black Frames.
