Sizergh
Sizergh is a historic estate on the southern edge of the Lake District near Kendal, best known for Sizergh Castle
, a fortified medieval house that has been home to the Strickland family for over 800 years. Managed by the National Trust, the castle features a striking tower house, beautifully preserved oak-panelled rooms, and the renowned Elizabethan Inlaid Chamber.
The surrounding estate includes formal gardens, one of the oldest rock gardens in the country, wildflower meadows, and extensive woodland and wetland walks across 1,600 acres.
