Shakespeare's Birthplace Coaster

Shakespeare's Birthplace Coaster by artist Emily Ward has been hand pressed locally onto a FSC rated hardbacked coaster. The coaster has been produced from original art by Emily.

This coaster can also be purchased in a set of four in a gift box.

Emily’s colourful art coaster of Shakespeare’s Birthplace brings the historic timber framed building to life with a wonderfully bright and cheerful palette.

The sky is filled with soft washes of pink, peach and warm orange, creating a glowing backdrop behind the traditional Tudor house. In the foreground, an abundance of flowers in vibrant shades of pink, purple, blue and white adds texture to the scene.

Splashes of colour scattered across the building and sky give the artwork a playful feel while still allowing the beautiful character and detail of Shakespeare’s Birthplace to remain at the heart of the picture.

Shakespeare's Birthplace

Shakespeare’s Birthplace is a historic 16th century timber framed house on Henley Street in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. It is believed to have been the house where William Shakespeare was born in 1564 and where he spent his childhood.

The property belonged to his father, John Shakespeare, a successful glove maker and local businessman, who lived there with his wife Mary and their family.

Shakespeare’s Birthplace has welcomed visitors for years and is one of the best known literary landmarks in England. The house was purchased for the nation in 1847 and is now cared for by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
