Rutter Force
Rutter Force, nestled close to the village of Great Asby in Cumbria, is a picturesque waterfall on the Hoff Beck, set within the peaceful landscapes of the Eden Valley. The water tumbles over a wide limestone ledge into a calm pool, with the presence of an old mill beside the falls adding a touch of history and charm.
The mill, originally used for grinding corn, was later converted to manufacture bobbins and then a sawmill. In the late 19th century, a water turbine was installed at the falls to generate electricity for the village
