Peel Castle Postcard
Peel Castle Postcard
Peel Castle postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original art by Emily.
The sky on Emily’s aet postcard of Peel Castle is a vivid mix of fiery oranges. The sun is surrounded by glowing yellows and golds which gradually transition into a deep red as they reach the edge of the sky.
The rich and warm tones of the castle highlight the red sandstone of the ancient Peel Castle.
The castle appears ancient and weathered by time yet strong and imposing whilst the calm water in the foreground reflects the warmth of Emily’s art.

Peel Castle
Perched on St Patrick's Isle, just off the coast of Peel in the Isle of Man, Peel Castle is one of the island's most iconic historic landmarks.
It is a historic fortress with origins dating back to the 11th century. Originally constructed by Norse settlers under the rule of King Magnus Barefoot, the castle served as a key defensive stronghold overlooking the Irish Sea. Over the centuries, Peel Castle evolved, with various additions made during the medieval period, including defensive walls, towers, and a cathedral, reflecting its importance as both a military and religious site.
Peel Castle is steeped in legends and ghostly tales. The eerie stories, coupled with the castle's atmospheric ruins and windswept location, contribute to its reputation as one of the Isle of Man's most mysterious and intriguing historic sites.
