Perched on St Patrick's Isle, just off the coast of Peel in the Isle of Man, Peel Castle
is one of the island's most iconic historic landmarks.
It is a historic fortress with origins dating back to the 11th century. Originally constructed by Norse settlers under the rule of King Magnus Barefoot, the castle served as a key defensive stronghold overlooking the Irish Sea. Over the centuries, Peel Castle evolved, with various additions made during the medieval period, including defensive walls, towers, and a cathedral, reflecting its importance as both a military and religious site.
