The River Otter reflects these tones as it winds quietly through warm greens and golden grasses, while a line of slender trees adds structure in the distance.

The River Otter Estuary
in Budleigh Salterton is a serene and atmospheric place where the river gently opens out to meet the sea. Shaped by the ebb and flow of the tides, the estuary reveals wide mudflats and winding channels.
Grasses and reeds fringe the water’s edge, while birdlife brings quiet movement and sound to the open landscape.
With the pebble beach and shoreline close by, the estuary feels both expansive and sheltered, a peaceful meeting point of river, land, and sea that captures the natural rhythm and calm beauty of the area.
