Hill Top, Beatrix Potter House Ceramic Tile with Easel
Hill Top, Beatrix Potter House Ceramic Tile with Easel
Hill Top, Beatrix Potter House ceramic tile with easel is by North East artist Emily Ward. The ceramic tile has been created from original art by Emily and is hand pressed locally in her art studio.
Emily Ward’s art ceramic tile offers a charming portrayal of Hill Top, the historic cottage once owned by Beatrix Potter. The traditional stone farmhouse sits nestled within a lush, blooming garden, surrounded by vibrant greenery and colourful flower beds. The house, with its ivy-clad walls and warm, earthy tones, exudes a sense of peace and timeless rural beauty.
The foreground bursts with playful splashes of pink, purple and blue wildflowers. The sky above is a brilliant blue, with soft wisps of white clouds, while delicate splatters of colour drift across the entire ceramic tile, adding a magical, almost storybook-like quality.

Hill Top, Beatrix Potter House
Hill Top is the beloved former home of renowned author and illustrator Beatrix Potter, located in the picturesque village of Sawrey in the Lake District. Purchased by Beatrix in 1905, this charming 17th-century farmhouse provided both a peaceful retreat and endless inspiration for her famous children’s stories. Many of her tales, including The Tale of Tom Kitten and The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, feature scenes and details taken directly from Hill Top and its surrounding countryside.
The house has been carefully preserved, with each room filled with her belongings, original furniture, and personal items, giving visitors a glimpse into her life and creative world.
Now managed by the National Trust , Hill Top remains a popular destination and offers an enchanting glimpse into the rural life that shaped Beatrix Potter’s timeless works.
