Emily’s art coaster of the Highland cows captures the beauty and tranquillity of the Scottish landscape in a stunning display of colour and texture. The trio of cows stands calmly in the foreground, their rich orange and golden coats glowing against the cooler tones of the hills and sky.
The background is awash with soft purples and blues, creating a dreamy, almost magical atmosphere that evokes the misty charm of the Highlands. At their feet, a field of wildflowers blooms in a riot of pinks, lilacs, and greens, painted with playful splashes that bring a sense of life and movement to the scene. The gentle expressions of the cows convey a quiet strength and peaceful presence perfectly reflecting the serene spirit and natural beauty of Scotland’s countryside.

Highland Cows
Highland cows, fondly known as “Hairy Coos,” are among Scotland’s most distinctive and charming animals. With their long, shaggy coats and majestic curved horns, they are perfectly suited to the wild and windswept landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. Their thick fur provides warmth and protection through the cold, wet seasons, while their gentle, curious nature has made them favourites with both locals and visitors.
These striking cattle come in a variety of colours, from rich russet and golden tones to cream, black, and grey. Often seen grazing peacefully on heather-covered hillsides or near quiet lochs, Highland cows capture the rugged beauty and enduring spirit of Scotland. Their unique appearance and calm presence make them an enduring symbol of the country’s natural heritage and rural charm.
