Hengistbury Head Coaster
Hengistbury Head Coaster
Hengistbury Head by artist Emily Ward has been hand pressed locally onto a FSC rated hardbacked coaster. The coaster has been produced from original art by Emily.
This coaster can also be purchased in a set of four in a gift box.
A gentle, pastel toned view of Hengistbury Head stretches across Emily’s art coaster, where neat rows of beach huts form a quiet line along the shore. Each hut is painted in soft shades of pale turquoise, buttery yellow, muted blue, and light coral. The colours create a harmonious patchwork of colour against the sandy landscape.
The foreground is dotted with clusters of blossoms in pinks, creams, and hints of green, adding a delicate layer of detail. Above, the sky is rendered in calm washes of lavender, powder blue, and soft grey.
The beach beyond lies in warm tones of beige and gold, gently leading to the sea, which reflects cool blues and faint silvery hues. The water appears smooth and understated, blending softly into the horizon, while a scattering of fine, multicoloured speckles overlays this art gift.

Hengistbury Head
Hengistbury Head is a prominent coastal headland on the south coast, situated between Bournemouth and Christchurch. Overlooking Christchurch Harbour on one side and the English Channel on the other, it features dramatic cliffs, open heathland, and sweeping sandy beaches.
The site is especially notable for its rich archaeological heritage, with remains from the Stone Age and substantial Iron Age earthworks still visible today. Once an important centre for trade with continental Europe before the Roman invasion.
Hengistbury Head is now protected as a nature reserve, valued for both its wildlife habitats and its long and fascinating human history.
