Forth Rail Bridge
The Forth Rail Bridge was the world's first major steel structure and longest cantilever bridge.
The bridge was opened in 1890 and at the time was a extraordinary in terms of design, materials and construction. Railways dominated long distance travel at the time the bridge was opened.
