Durdle Door Postcard

Durdle Door postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original artwork by Emily.

Emily’s art postcard of Durdle Door shows the coastline in soft, blended colours that create a calm and inviting scene. The sky is made up of gentle shades of blue, lilac, and pale pink, giving it a light and airy feel, with small specks of colour scattered across it like drifting petals.

The sea below appears clear and bright, shifting from deeper turquoise further out to lighter blue-green tones near the shore, where it meets the beach.

The sandy cove curves smoothly along the land in warm tones of peach and beige, adding warmth to this art card.

In the foreground, tall, delicate flowers rise up in a mix of pink, purple, yellow, and white, filling the lower part of the scene with colour and texture. Together, these elements create a peaceful coastal view that feels both gentle and full of life.

Durdle Door

Durdle Door is a well-known natural rock arch situated along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset on England’s southern shoreline. Shaped over millions of years by the constant action of waves eroding the limestone, it forms a striking arch that extends out into the sea.

This area is part of the Jurassic Coast, which was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001 because of its exceptional geological significance and the way it reveals millions of years of Earth’s history.

With its dramatic cliffs, clear waters, and sweeping coastal views, Durdle Door remains one of the most popular natural attractions in the region.
