Aira Force Waterfall
Aira Force Waterfall, set near Ullswater in Cumbria’s Lake District, is a striking natural feature surrounded by peaceful woodland. The waterfall drops around 65 feet (20 metres) into a rocky ravine, its rushing water filling the air with a powerful, echoing sound.
The area around the falls is rich with greenery, from moss-covered rocks and delicate ferns to tall trees that create a sheltered, almost magical atmosphere. Stone bridges above and below the cascade provide perfect viewpoints, allowing visitors to admire the force of the water from different angles. Famous for inspiring poets like William Wordsworth, Aira Force
