Tynemouth Priory bone china cup has been created from a vibrant original painting by Emily Ward, a local North East artist.
Emily has painted these impressive medieval ruins which stand proud at the mouth of the Tyne under a warming orange sky.
The yellowing rock arches have been painted with a hint of pink, can be seen protecting the priory. The sea splashes from the North Sea add character to this delightful cup.

About Priory Castle
A rocky headland overlooking the North Sea and the River Tyne on the North East coastline is home to this coastal fortress. Tynemouth Castle
with its rich history of over 2000 years, from the Iron Age to WW2, was an enclosed fortification that was built around a Benedicitine priory.
Early kings of Northumbria are buried here amongst the medieval priory, which was protected by moated castle towers, a keep and a gatehouse. These substantial ruins are part of English Heritage now.
