Temple of Piety, Studley Royal Water Garden
Studley Royal Water Garden, including the ruins of Fountains Abbey
, in Yorkshire is a designated World Heritage Site.
This 800 acre site features the largest Cistercian abbey ruins in Europe, 18th century landscaped gardens, and a Jacobean mansion.
The follies of Studley Royal were designed by the Georgians to be fun and frivolous eye-catchers to enjoy as they whiled away afternoons in the grounds.
The Temple of Piety is possibly one of the most well known of the follies in this World Heritage Site. It's been a part of the garden since the 1800s.
