St Mary's Church, Hitchin ceramic pendant has been created from original art by North East artist Emily Ward. This lovely hanging decoration has been hand pressed locally in her studio near Newcastle.

Emily’s artwork is a vibrant and charming depiction of St Mary’s Church in Hitchin. The church, with its grand Gothic windows and detailed stonework, stands prominently in the center of this art ceramic pendant, framed by lush green trees on either side. The sky is painted in rich, soft shades of blue, with hints of cloud textures.

In the foreground, a decorative fountain sprays water upward, its droplets captured with a light, almost sparkling effect that adds a sense of movement to the peaceful scene. The lawn is rendered in fresh green tones, dotted with playful splashes of yellow, green, and white, reminiscent of wildflowers or sunlight filtering through trees.

St Mary's Church, Hitchin

St Mary’s Church in Hitchin, Hertfordshire is one of the largest parish churches in England. The church is renowned as a remarkable example of medieval architecture.

The church was listed as a Grade 1 under the name of Church of Saint Mary in 1951.

The present church dates from the 14th and 15th centuries; foundations of an ancient Saxon church were discovered when a new floor was laid in 1911.

The church has been a central part of Hitchin's history and community for over 900 years. Its impressive size reflects the prosperity that Hitchin enjoyed during the medieval wool trade.
