Seaburn
Seaburn beach
in South Tyneside has been a family favourite for hundreds of years. Seaburn boasts a wide, flat sandy beach and is popular for both bathing and watersports.
The Grade II lighthouse that stands proud between Roker and Seaburn was originally built in 1856 on Sunderland’s South pier at the mouth of the River Wear, by Thomas Meik. The lighthouse was relocated to Roker Cliff Park in 1983 and is referred to as the White Lighthouse or Meik’s Lighthouse.
