Rosedale Mines framed ceramic tile has been designed from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. All ceramic tiles are printed and hand pressed in Emily's art studio, where she hand finishes every tile.
Emily has given the iconic old kilns of Rosedale Mines a splash of colour. The stone arches are set against the luscious greens of the Yorkshire Moors.
The foreground is filled with a vibrant meadow of blue, yellow and lilac wildflowers on this art ceramic tile.
A single sheep grazes peacefully amongst the flowers, adding a sense of tranquility to the rugged beauty of the historic site.

Rosedale Mines
The Rosedale Mines, on the North Yorkshire Moors, was a thriving mining community in the 19th century. The moors were filled with fire, smoke and noise as the ironside mining industry boomed in Rosedale.
In 1856 mining began near to Chimney Bank and soon they needed to dig deeper into the hillside for ironstone. The Bank Top kilns were built to refine the process and make the mining more financially viable.
Conservation work has been carried out on the mines to help preserve them in their current state and prevent further deterioration.
Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.
The framed tile appears as if it is floating inside the frame.
Frames are available in White and Black Frames.
