Lowther Castle Coaster
Lowther Castle Coaster
Lancaster Castle coaster by artist Emily Ward has been hand pressed locally onto a FSC rated hardbacked coaster. The coaster has been produced from original art by Emily.
This coaster can also be purchased in a set of four in a gift box.
Lowther Castle art coaster captures the grandeur of its Gothic Revival architecture in a radiant, dreamlike style.
The castle’s towers and battlements rise proudly, their warm stone tones glowing beneath a vast yellow sun that spreads light across the sky, blending into soft blues at the edges. In the foreground, a vibrant field of wildflowers stretches toward the entrance, painted in lively splashes of pink, purple, blue, and yellow that create a joyful carpet of colour.
Manicured hedges frame the path, leading the eye directly to the arched gateway at the heart of the composition. The playful scatter of paint across the scene unites sky, garden, and stone which gives the historic ruins a warming feel.

Lowther Castle
Lowther Castle , located near Penrith in the Lake District, is a striking ruin that tells a story of grandeur and decline. Built in the early 19th century, between 1806 and 1814, for the Lowther family, it was designed in a dramatic Gothic Revival style by architect Robert Smirke.
Once a magnificent stately home with opulent interiors and expansive gardens, the castle fell into disrepair in the mid-20th century after being abandoned and partly demolished. Today, its romantic ruins, framed by restored gardens and sweeping views of the Cumbrian landscape, make it a fascinating destination where history, architecture, and nature come together in a place full of atmosphere and character.
