Lancaster Castle Hanging Pendant Decoration

Lancaster Castle ceramic pendant has been created from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. This lovely hanging decoration has been hand pressed locally in her studio near Newcastle.

Emily’s artwork of Lancaster Castle presents the historic fortress towering proudly across this ceramic pendant. The castle’s golden-brown stone walls rise with strength and character, their battlements standing out against a sky painted in soft tones of blue and lavender.

Around the castle, bursts of greenery frame the castle walls, with trees rendered in lively shades of green, flecked with dappled light and colour. In the foreground, a vibrant meadow of flowers stretches across the scene, created through energetic splashes of pink, purple, yellow, and white that bring a playful brightness to the composition.

The scattered dots of paint unify the sky, trees, flowers, and stone, turning Lancaster Castle into a radiant blend of history and nature.

Lancastor Castle

Lancaster Castle , perched on a hill overlooking the River Lune, is a striking fortress steeped in centuries of history. Built from sturdy sandstone, its walls and towers exude strength and permanence, with the imposing John O’Gaunt Gatehouse standing as a powerful symbol of medieval authority.

The castle has served not only as a defensive stronghold but also as a centre of justice, famously hosting trials such as those of the Pendle witches in the early 17th century.

The mix of battlements, turrets, and arched gateways reflects both military might and architectural grandeur, while its commanding position gives it a dramatic presence over the surrounding city.
