Guildhall, Derry Bone China Cup

Guildhall, Derry bone china cup has been designed from original artwork by Emily Ward. All cups are printed and hand pressed in Emily's studio in the North East.

Emily’s colourful bone china cup beautifully captures the splendour of the historic Guildhall in Derry. The magnificent building takes centre stage, with its warm terracotta and rich red brickwork glowing against a spectacular sky filled with sweeping shades of vivid blue, soft pink, lilac and lavender. Delicate splashes of turquoise, sunshine yellow and rosy pink dance across the sky, creating a wonderful sense of light and movement.

In the foreground, a glorious display of wildflowers bursts into life, with pretty pink blossoms, delicate purple blooms, cheerful yellow flowers and little white daisies nestled amongst fresh green grasses. The details of the Guildhall’s grand windows, ornate stonework and towering clock are beautifully complemented by the soft, flowing colours of the surrounding landscape.

Full of warmth, charm and joyful colour, this delightful artwork brings a fresh and uplifting feel to one of Derry’s most iconic landmarks.

Guildhall, Derry

The Guildhall is one of the most recognisable and historic buildings in Derry, also known as Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Situated in Guildhall Square, close to the River Foyle and the city's famous historic walls, this magnificent red sandstone building was completed in 1890 and is a fine example of neo-Gothic architecture.

Following a devastating fire in 1908, the Guildhall was extensively rebuilt and reopened in 1912. Its impressive clock tower is a distinctive feature of the city's skyline. Inside, the Guildhall is renowned for its beautiful stained glass windows, which depict important events and stories from Derry's rich history, as well as its magnificent pipe organ.

Today, the building continues to serve as an important civic and cultural landmark, hosting council meetings, exhibitions, concerts and special events, while welcoming visitors.
