Gisborough Priory Ceramic Tile with Easel

Gisborough Priory ceramic tile and easel has been created by North East artist Emily Ward. Designed from original art by Emily, this art tile is printed and hand pressed locally in Emily's studio near Newcastle.

You can imagine walking though this meadow filled with dainty pink and yellow cheerfully coloured flowers which entice you to towards these impressive Gothic ruins.

Shimmers of lilac seep through the skyline to give a warming glow to the rustic tones of this medieval stonework.

Gisborough Priory

The North Yorkshire town of Guisborough skyline, proudly boasts the dramatic ruins of the magnificent Augustinian priory. Today all that remains is the tall tower of Gisborough Priory which sits admirably within the town, offering a taste of outstanding gothic architecture.

The original priory was founded in 1119 by Robert de Brus, on land bequeathed by William the Conqueror. The priory was rebuilt on a grand scale at the end of the 12th century and again after a catastrophic fire in 1289.

Gisborough Priory is regarded as the 'gateway to the North York Moors'.
